Puddled Clay Ponds

Puddled clay is a traditional pond liner, worth considering if you have a heavy clay soil as it is uses sustainable materials. It works by forming a watertight layer of compacted clay that prevents the water draining away into the ground. The clay must be laid in a thick layer across the pond, watered well, then trampled or “puddled.”
